About Us

Fenland Running Club

We were formed in April 1992 by amalgamation of the Elmfield Joggers and the Wisbech Athletic Club.

(Read the Club Constitution)

The Club is affiliated to the South of England A.A. and to the Cambridgeshire County association.

Our colours are white/purple vest with purple shorts.

We are a relatively small club with about fifty members - mostly from Wisbech and surrounding villages. These members are of varying abilities, from potential race winners to fitness joggers, and it is the stated aim of the Club to help and encourage each and every one regardless of ability.

Although originally formed as an Athletics Club the concentration is now on year-round road running, at distances up to the marathon, with cross-country running in season. We enter teams each year in the very popular Round Norfolk and Hereward Relays and we organise outings to the London and other big-city Marathons as well as to the Great North Run.

The Club holds an open event - the Fenland Ten Mile race - run each year in late October. Most members contribute in some way to the successful organisation of this increasingly popular race.

There are various social events from time-to-time throughout the year. These are described in a regular newsletter distributed to all members.
