Norwich Half Marathon - 29th November 2009
Twelve members of Fenland Running Club ran the Norwich Half Marathon on Sunday in good conditions although heavy rain immediately prior to the start made the beginning uncomfortable for the 2,233 competitors completing the course. Of the Fenland eight ladies and four men, four of the ladies turned in personal best times for a half marathon (Maire Irlam: 1.36.15; Lisa Jermey: 1.42.50; Jane Holmes: 1.44.59; Louise Busby: 1.58.55) and there were age category prizes taken by both men and ladies. For the ladies, Maire Irlam finished 17th lady overall (out of 688) and 2nd in her age category and for the men Ian Milburn finished 374th (out of 1,545) and 2nd in his age category. Julie Garner, running her first half marathon race finished in a time of 2.33.12.
