Oakley 20 - 28th March 2010
Five Fenland runners took part in the Oakley 20 mile road race hosted by Bedford Harriers. The course consisted of one 12 mile loop on undulating country roads around Oakley and North Bedfordshire villages followed by a slightly different second loop of 8 miles. It was Paul Wiegand's second time at this race and he achieved a personal best time at the distance of 2 hours 33 minutes. For Michelle Gilbert and Louise Busby it was their first 20 mile race in preparation for the London Marathon that they will be running on 25th April 2010. Cheryl Chapman and Jane Greenwood also completed the course with respectable times in preparation for their Halstead and Essex Marathon in May.
Results: Paul Wiegand 2:33, Cheryl Chapman 3:09, Jane Greenwood 3:10, Michelle Gilbert 3:13 and Louise Busby 3:25.
